Oh! Sweetie! She looks just like a cat I had before...lost said cat in a break-up (which was sad, but at least I knew that she'd still be loved and well cared-for). What a cute little darling! I want one!
Thanks, guys! The kitty is a he, and after test-driving a few different names, I think I've settled on one that fits. He's ridiculously friendly and affectionate, and also quite a talker (it remains to be seen whether he settles down once I go to bed, or whether I'll have to invest in some earplugs). I think I've never felt so much spontaneous love for anything in my life. (And Sis, yes: it did strike me that he looks rather like yours!)
The allergies so far don't seem to be much of a problem. He's been all over me all day, and although my eyes got a bit red and itchy when I washed my face, I flushed them out and they're fine now. No sneezing or congestion or other problems to speak of.
Pretty-pretty kitty-kitty! Brings back memories of when my Jaz was that size (long time ago).
And so useful for dating. I don't know how I ever dated without my baby. She's an excellent judge of character. Once she bit a friend of mine (I thought). Of course I scolded her, but then about a year later said "friend" screwed me out of data on a project we were supposedly doing together. Jaz knew more than I did!
Okay - my Adorability Meter just went over the top! What a cute ball of fluff - I'm so glad you're feeling such spontaneous amor for the newest addition to the fam. He's got you now - you're his person.
Cat! Fantastic! He's a handsome feller. My fluffy black thing was very chatty as a kitten, quieted down during her middle years, and is getting vocal again as she enters her crone stage. I hope your doesn't keep you up for too much longer with the talking. I also hope you two have a long, happy life together.
Enjoy! I've also got a fluffy black thing. Watch the string--mine chews it up like other animals slurp spaghetti, especially if it has elastic. I used to have two cute strappy tanktaps, until the cat ate the straps.
Oh, and Sis: now why didn't I think of "Lycidas"? That'd actually be a pretty awesome kitty name. However, although his actual name isn't Miltonic or especially literary, it is indeed trisyllabic (with a disyllabic nickname), and Latinate, and has at least a sort of Early Modern connection. Still trying to figure out an appropriate pseudonym.
And Crazy: that thought had occurred to me, actually. . .
Totally rad. I was watching a witch movie with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock today and in one scene, Nicole Kidman (off topic: why do we never call her Nicole-- always Nicole Kidman) was clutching a black kitty and it looked so adorable. Congrats on the kitty. Meow!

Aawww! Look at those kitty toenails! Tell us more!
So cute and tiny! Looks kinda like mine! (BTW, if he _acts_ like mine, he'll eat paper and books.)

OMG!!! I love him!
Adorable!!! I have always wanted a black kitty with green eyes. How precious.
How cute!!! Ooooh I wanna kitten!!!
He's ADORABLE! I've never had a kitten--adult cats have always sort of stumbled into my life--but this age looks so cute.
What a cutie-pie! Congratulations on your expanded household.
