Happy (belated) 95 Theses Day!

It was Friday. But really: isn't every day 95 Theses Day?

I've watched this at least a dozen times. It just keeps getting better. (Via IvyGate.)

I actually dressed up as the Door at Wittenberg for Halloween. Two holidays in one (around these parts, the other one is Reformation Day ;)!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh holy crap, Flavia, you just made my entire week. Semester, even. Thank you.

We just started in on the Ref today in Ren-Ref, so this was not only highly entertaining but timely for me. Opening gambit (after showing the video to start class): Does Martin Luther as angry young man fit our evidence?

Yale gets a lot of flack, sometimes from me, but there are moments when I really love that place... especially the undergrads.

I *thought* that looked a lot like Yale.

Dear Flavia: THANK YOU FOR THIS. It totally made my day (which I didn't think could get any better).

You can tell it's a Yalie because he's so lame with the hammer.

CFP: last Halloween, the folks I spent it with joked that we were going to have to have a theme party the next year and dress up as our favorite thesis. I spent this Halloween with the same people--but had totally forgotten about that promise until I came across this video. Next year!

Profane: I'm jealous. I speed through some Ref historical backfill in most of my Ren classes, but not enough that this would really make sense to my students.

And Kate: I wouldn't wish to choose my carpenter from any Ivy, I don't think. I mean, they can't even talk to plumbers.
