So maybe I'm vain, but. . .

I was delighted to find that I already have one review on RateMyProfessors.com in my new institutional incarnation, and not only did my reviewer give me extremely high numerical scores (except for easiness, and one doesn't want high marks for easiness), but I got a chili pepper, too!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of bitchy comments and low scores soon enough (in my Big Urban incarnation I still managed to wind up with good averages, but there were some really nasty evaluations mixed in there and the comments leaned toward the critical)--but it feels good to start off well.

Now, if only I could say that my students were doing the same with their papers. . .

;-) How funny that I was just looking at RateMyProfessor as well. I am listed, but no one has bother to say anything yet. Maybe good, maybe bad. Maybe engineering kids don't do that - who knows? Congrats on the chili pepper too. Hee!

BTW, I read that there is a backorder on those $3K hypoallergenic cats, so you should throw some of that fancy professor money down now and get in before the list gets too long. ;-)

It's crazy how much that damn RMP affects us. I remember being *devastated* in the summer, when I got one hateful comment. So, congrats on avoiding that feeling!

Ah...the coveted chili pepper....they can't take that away, hot mama!

I don't know, maybe, but I'm guessing not.

Am I hot or not for profs? I love it. That's hot.

Hehe, who knows, maybe one of your blog fans left the chili pepper for you? Hint Hint!

Nah, just kidding (or rather I should say, it wasn't me :-P). I'm listed now chez Cold City U, yes, Professor Oso Raro, but no comments, and given the student demographic it might not happen. But oh, Sadistic College, those little teenaged Jezebels had WAY too much time on their hands.

Actually, they can. My chili pepper total dropped during the first week of classes, and I'm down 2 or 3 since my highest total last spring. I apparently became much less attractive over the summer, so much so that students were inspired to log back in and change their votes. So it really is important to keep up appearances.

I wish my students used rate my professors. But the number of faculty reviewed in my dept. is really low. Too bad. I want that chili pepper!
